Reflective Insulation Under Concrete Slab
**Very popular application in the Northern States (Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Ohio & New England).
**Codes are mandating that Reflective insulation product be installed in these markets for most new construction. This helps keep the concrete floor at room temperature. No real minimum R-value requirements.
Reflective Insulation As HVAC Duct Wrap
Due to energy code requirements becoming a very popular application in many markets across the country including Southeast, Texas, Arizona, California, Midwest & Northeast
Reflective insulation used as duct wrap conserves energy by reducing heat loss from metal ducts. This equals increased efficiency. R-8 trending towards the standard. IECC 2009 requires R8 for duct wrap in all 50 states although it will take a few years for this code to be accepted.
Reflect-R is the R8 solution. Unlike conventional "double bubble" wrap, Reflect-R achieves an R8 rating (per ASTM C518) for duct wrap with a single layer of 3/4" FGF Reflect-R plus 3/4" spacers. "Double bubble" wrap products require two layers of double bubble plus two layers of spacers. Reflect-R also maintains a Class A / Class 1 rating as tested per ASTM E84.
